EGYPTIAN ARMY RETAKES THE CHARGE.

                                      EGYPTIAN  ARMY RETAKES THE CHARGE.
                                               khurshidalam44@hotmail.com

The short Arab spring ended by retaking the control of the country by Egyptian. It was understood that it will not be possible for the army to swallow this bitter sip so easily and give up, not only the political power but the huge chunk of the economic share they own in national economy.  There was a huge vacuum of political leadership and organisational skill since 1952, to be filled by the fledgling political parties. Though it hurts to look at the double standard of the USA but it is matter of happiness that Egyptian learnt how to break the chain of fear. Fear is the enemy of mental evolution and maturity of the thinking process. Fear compels the individual to go in self isolation amongst the ocean of other individuals. It makes even the dreams dreadful that every one even not to dream.

It will provide an opportunity to Egyptian people to look in to their weaknesses and flaws in their handling of the situation. They must have realised that decades old stillness and national inertia needed national approach and tactful dealing to dismantle the rusted machinery of the state. One party rule concept was basically a flawed concept in such a situation. Without a mature political culture to attempt a single party rule was a political suicide. Any how such failures strengthen the will and resilience. That's how one learns from own mistakes, in turn it provides determination and strength.

Army is the enemy of any process, that stimulates awareness and discussion. Upton Sinclair once said quite rightly, "It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it". Armed forces are trained and nurtured this way i.e. Not to understand peace, compassion and solving problems by dialogue. They always want to be on the  offensive in the dark and retreat in the light. Awareness and flow of information is a source of light that guides the nations in the dark. It took centuries for the established democracies to harness this rabid elephant. Unfortunately those countries are now in the forefront to support the military juntas and despots. It is in their national interest to deal with individuals rather than institutions. It is a tragedy of humanity that self interest has triumphed over global harmony.

Unfortunately all third world countries but in particular the Muslim countries have always been ruled by despots and the enemies of free thinking. They are the cronies of the imperialist and have their unwavering support, in return of non questionable loyalty. The Arab uprising was moulded differently in different countries as it suited their interests. But I believe that it will be better for Egyptian to revisit their strategies and re read them selves, first how to democratise their own mental make up and then to implement nationally. The nature of struggle varies from country to country according to the objective conditions. Self reading  and field work is important so to realise that the public is not ready to accept another despot in civilian clothes or a dogma to be imposed on them. This present state is the result of dogmatic policies of Mr. Morsi. The political parties must be intrinsically democratic. Only the believer of collective leadership can triumph. Transparency and accountability is an integral part to popular support. To me it looks that Egyptian and Pakistani army will fight till last before giving up. They have a lot at stake, a chunk of national economies which, they own. A rough estimate is above forty five percent. A commentator commented once the military offered  least resistance in initial stages, they did not want to kill their own customers, it carries sense. In this hidden economy the foot soldier have no share except that their pension is three time more of their civilian counterparts.

Any where, where the public is less literate and national awareness is at lower ebb the army will be the strongest arm of vested interest, to crush any threat to its authority. It needs a lot of spade work and awareness of the public to replace this band of gangsters. Stronger countries often don't shy away from state terrorism with a nicely worded pretext,  especially if dealing with weaker countries.

The army derives its strength from illiterate and ignorant masses, failure of civilian leadership to establish institutions or failure to deliver to the masses or intrinsic weakness of the rulers to involve army to strengthen themselves. The three reasons are more applicable in the case of Pakistan and Nigeria. The incapable and corrupt civilians paves the way for army to assert itself. But wherever the army is in politics it looses its professionalism. It is abundantly clear in the case of Egypt, Nigeria  and Pakistan. For Egyptian masses it was the first time to throw away the yoke of dictatorship. They had no previous experience of civilian government.

Since the world has become unipolar the international gangsterism and bloodshed has tremendously increased in the name of democracy and international peace. People have now started thinking of the revival of counter devil. Bipolar world was a protective shield for the weaker. During my forty years stay in UK I have not seen  presence of military personnels in public places except once at Heathrow air port during the height of terrorism. True and undiluted democracy is no where including Britain. I have seen their army in action in Northern Ireland. Even the right of veto power has made UNO irrelevant and un democratic.

Whether it is Egypt, Pakistan or Nigeria it needs time to do field work before we confront the authority of  army.  In Pakistan army is virtually in power. The civilian government is a sort of shadow cabinet with no right to question the real authority. The recent example is the attack on the press freedom. They made the press rub their nose against the ground but still not satisfied. It is unfortunate that the torch bearer of the bigger and established democracies are supporting the same oppressive institution. The reason US is hated universally by public and loved by the governments, that they always invest in the armies not in the public. It is much convenient to deal with individuals.

I salute the public of Egypt. The roots of the the monster are too deep in Egyptian society. At least they have triumphed over the fear to confront the invincible. They lost to them as the alternative was disappointing. I am sure next time they will look after their weak points.

At the same time I hope Pakistani politicians will learn from it. The struggle is uphill because the politicians are not the real representative of the public. They represent the vested interest. Though living in one country but they are miles away from the public. They have no clue of the public miseries. So have no solution for their problems. Neither they know hunger nor the suffering to of those who have no shelter. It is natural that the vested interest always compromise with stronger force when it comes to choose among weak, meek and the mightier.  It will be insanity to expect them to do otherwise. Unless a leadership comes from the roots instead from the heavens I am a bit pessimist of good outcome. In most of these societies 90 percent of the population is virtually disfranchised. The very election is between two camps of rivals to capture powers for their vested interest and the victorious are the one who has the backing of the establishment and can spend in millions to exploit poverty and buy the votes. The ninety percent are born to be vote sellers. Election is basically a national auction where the bidders bid. It is never a wasted money, spend in millions to day and get in billion tomorrow.

Least could be expected from this specie and  the process that it will prepare a womb for the growth of a genuine democracy and a common man will ever enter the house of power. But an on going movement in the public is must to educate the masses and create the desire of self participation.

Tomorrow does not hold a ray of hope in my view because of our education system. A class based system where quality has been named a higher score. And score is on sale which is beyond the reach of a common citizen. Unless this vicious circle is broken nothing tangible can be achieved. But still I believe in national resolve. History has proved that national resolve is never defeated. If every one of us contribute to the society and forget about completion of the process to reap the harvest.

EGYPTIAN ARMY DIGS IN!

                                  EGYPTIAN ARMY DIGS IN.
                                            khurshidalam44@hotmail.com

The Egyptian army is digging deeper reflecting their intentions, that they are not there to quit, having unwavering support of a puppet judiciary. Cairo was again painted by human blood by celebrated republican guard who has a shameful professional record in last three wars.
Ironically the champion of democracy and the police of the unipolar world USA has yet to decide whether the toppling of an elected government is a coup or not? In  oxford English  dictionary there is no alternative word but they may find or creat one in Americana,Webster.

While Cairo, Alexandria and Nasaria was bleeding and the entire world was protesting, USA decided to continue 1.5 billion dollars yearly aid to Egypt.  Arguing that it is not some thing new but a a clause of camp David accord where Sadat surrendered Egyptian sovereignty in return of 1.5 billion dollars. It is undoubtedly a political bribe for Egyptian army, definitely not an aid to Egyptians, but to a surrogate army to keep tight their grip on its own people in the interest of Americans. Traditionally Americans have never invested in countries or public sector but the the recipient have always been dictators, army and kings.

Being mother arab country west was always scared of public uprising in Egypt. To destabilise Egypt during Nasir era and attempts by CIA to disfigure him and Castro of Cuba was their long cherished dream. They wanted stable Egyptian government loyal to USA and succeeded in Sadat era.

During Nasir days they propped up Shah Faisal to counter Nasir. And the Pan Arab nationalism VS religious orthodoxy game was started in Arab world.  The corner stone of US foreign policy was to strengthen surrogate army in every part of the world to support the local dictators, kings, sheikh, despots and usurper particularly in Middle East. .

Though in America itself has a dollar dictatorship as one ex congress man and columnist of New York times told me in London, the love for democratic values ends at USA geographical borders. For out side world they are tailor different policies for different countries that suit American interest. This double standard has made USA  the most hated country in the world in spite of so much investment abroad. It is a history that in bipolar world not a single American  resolution has been passed  in security council without the resorting to the most ugly, vicious and undemocratic veto.

Veto was a  brainchild of Churchill to bribe USSR to share Berlin with the western powers. USSR being the only communist country in UNO at that time jumped to grab the opportunity as the rest of the world was under colonial rule and USSR had no supporter in UNO.

Why the Arab spring was nipped in the bud, needs a realistic and logical dissection?Unless we know the meaning and philosophy of fundamentalism we will never understand the reason behind this blood let all over the world. Fundamentalism is a psychic disorder. It is an overwhelming and compulsive desire to impose personal whims and wish on others and force them to follow the foot prints of the imposer. They are in maniac in their silly pursuit.

It is not only limited to religions but could be political, economical, racial or  just simply audacity to subjugate men and resources of other countries. Colonisation ,imperialism, communism, theocracy, chip technology imperialism all stem from the same mental aberration and idiocy . Hatred and intolerance are the integral components of this horrifying disorder.

Let us be logical for a while and compare Hitler with Churchill. There was hardly any difference in their contemptuous attitudes for other nations and races and were sufferers of superiority complex, both were megalomaniac. Churchill was unelected and Hitler was commanding German emotions. Hitler is fascist today because he was defeated and Churchill is a democrat because he won. Like humans, history do make blunders but never tell lie, the historians do both. This credit of this misinterpretation goes to the historians.

US wants to impose its brand of democracy in the world. It is a ploy to capture world resources and to contain emerging china. China has everything but no land and natural resources. Their industries are run by foreign fuel. Their dealing of foreign affairs and investment is different than the others, if the readers have noticed? They rarely give aid but offers to build the projects themselves. The reason behind is, to reach to the natural resources in the land.

The Russian worry about china has different reason. The Russian republic is scared about china military might. Russian population is on decline while Chinese have crossed 1.5 billions and still growing. They have the longest shared border and centuries old territorial claims.Russian army has no comparison to people's army of china in training and fanaticism. The quantitative change has changed in to qualitative form as in Second World War. (Stalin doctrine).

There is no undiluted democracy in the world. UNO is being run by the most vicious and dictatorial  concept of veto. The military prison for Al Qaeda and Taliban prisoners in US is another shining example of love for human rights by USA. The refusal of UK government to allow Irish nationalist to sit in House of Commons is not the matter of far past. It was in mid seventies.

The theocratic regimen of Iran and the most autocratic regimen of Saudi Arabia based on on apartheid concept, using Islam as a shield, both are the shining example of sectarian fundamentalism. Even the royal family is divided in four classes on blood basis, sahib, samu, amir, malik. The last two have the right to rule. Hijazi are not trust worthy. Shia are non-declared non Muslims.

The clash of fundamentalism in Middle East and Afghanistan are the result of American fundamentalist policies. How the Arab spring was thwarted in Bahrain and Yemen to avoid the spill over to the most allied ally, Saudi Arabia. Libya was plunged in to tribal war. Syria is being systemically destroyed till it cease to exist. Iraq was destroyed and fractionalised on sectarian basis. A war was induced in its body politics that will never end.

The latest axe fell on the neck of Muslim brotherhood. Incompetency and apathy apart but the people's mandate was crushed by a military coup. Followed by interim government made of USA "rented democrats". The elites, intellectuals and liberals also danced to American tune, knowingly or unknowingly. If the military was not partial they should have included Mr morse group in interim government that would have provided a room for future negotiation. But the idea was replacement of a school of thought by another that suit  locally, the army and globally USA.

The law of nature takes its course according to the intentions. India made the same mistake in east Punjab to make Khalisa movement to defeat akali dal in election, Hamas is the brain child of Israel to counter PLO, Al Qaeda, hizbs, Taliban of Afghanistan is the creation of USA, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. They all backfired on their masters. It was misconceived dream or notion to contain fire in glass jar. Since the intentions were devilish so are the results.

Anyhow I have faith that national will has never been defeated. Hanoi survived in caves after USA carpet bombing of north Vietnam but it was step forward to Americans shameful defeat. Gibran said if you see a slave sleeping, don't wake him up he might be dreaming of freedom but Abdul Ghaffar khan said, " no wake him up and teach the real meaning of freedom, so that he is not made slave again. " I agree with the later. Egyptian have learnt the meaning of freedom and now it is impossible for the dollar washed sons to yield them.
The result of unipolar world have been disastrous. It was a balancing mechanism. None of them loved the weaker nation but it was the mutual scare that was blessing in disguise for the weaker.

I am ashamed of our free press they are as silent as they were in Vietnam war. I am deadly against the sectarian politics personally. I have seen the hanging of Abbas Haveda, once the prime minister of Iran. His trial lasted only for three minutes.  I have seen Dr. Najeeb humiliating death. I am as scared of JI  as Maulana azad was, after reading their  manifesto and said, "oh my God, it will be a fascist state". To me people's verdict carries more sanctity and must be respected. My heart goes out for civilian government of Egypt simply that it was people verdict and a legitimacy has been illegitimacy. I never use the word democratic but civilian government as the nucleus of power is GHQ in Pakistan and Egypt.  It must be kindly noted by the readers.

Corruption and incompetence of Zardari government cannot be defended, but at the same time this fact should not be ignored that his government was on daily adhoc basis. Every day a new scandal and new so Moto action were there to be dealt with. Very significant similarity with Morsi government. I am sure that Mian Sb will have undoubtedly  smooth sailing because all the stake holder of power belongs to the same constituency having similar mental make up, military, civilian government, bureaucracy, judiciary and media. Ayaz Mir is right to call it "Punjab ki  hukamrani." This is the only system works in our country. The most noticeable is the composition of political panels on our electronic media totally non federal and symbolising a unitary government.

Destiny

                              Destiny?
                  khurshidalam44@hotmail.com                                .

The philosophical approach to peace by different philosophers may have different wordings but the bottom line is the same harmony in a person and between living individuals. We have to hate hatred to start journey of global village and stop tagging different blood at different rates. It has created a havoc in the world.

"The word Peace is derived from a Latin word Pax. In Hebrew it is called shotum and Islam it is called salam. Peace is an internal feeling and is the ultimate precursor for making any effort to build peaceful societies, the corner stone for the universal peace."

"Peace is intra-personal, interpersonal and international phenomenon and is a great human virtue. Pacification is the core characteristic. In peace there is no victor and the vanquished but all parties are equally victors."

"The patience to listen to others and accept the difference of opinion increase the depth of tolerance and leaves no room for interpersonal friction. It creates harmonious atmosphere  to provide the opportunity to lay the foundation of building humanity with social justice and human dignity." In our society the intolerance stems from this very fact that we speak but refuse to listen. Listening increases knowledge, and knowledge in turn increase tolerance. Tolerance leads to harmony. It is a chain of broken results in confrontational society and anarchy. Logic looses value and every glittering thing becomes gold.

"It may be called the state of harmony in the absence of conflicts. In my view this is an incomplete definition. Peace without cultural and economical justice carries no meaning. The peace in a graveyard is no peace but silence of death. Knowing the Pakistani mentality their perception of peace does not fit in the philosophical frame of peace."

"While violence can be described to turn an orderly process or life into a disorderly state with a big element of fear. Fear can end a conflict but with complete disregard to human natural aspirations. This is what exactly going on our land. In peace there is mutual love and affection while in violence and force there is underlying hatred and resentment"

"It is a peaceful co-existence between "living" individuals without denial of the right of those having different opinions and perspectives. Those who cannot understand English must be knowing the difference between the two Urdu words. Skoon, and sakoot."

Every nation has Its own top priority. Nation with historical background always wish to locate and shape its own destiny. Nation without destiny and tomorrow has no right to exist. Our destiny is lying in PEACE.  Peace is the mother of progress and prosperity.

Fifty percent of our population is living in forced exile to earn bread and butter due to political and financial exploitation of our resources by the local exploiters, state tyranny and bloodletting induced in our political body by our historical enemies. For political animosity with khudai khidmatgars Jinnah punished the whole Pashtun nation and so the subsequent despots followed the footprints.

Let it be clear "to those to whom it may concern" that we don't need motorways and bullet train in our national grave yard. To live with dignity is our human right and if we have to die it should not be the choice of others to choose the mode of our killing. We believe in life for all with mutual respect. "Toddlers should not teach us how to walk." Stalin said one death is a tragedy many is statistics. We don't want statistical deaths any more. We Pakhtuns have to start the process to stop this statistical exercise.

The Chinese tour was tailored for the development of Punjab. No doubt it was a great success. We congratulate the king and crown prince. But we are not ready to be guinea pigs any more. Nor our leaders should give chance to others to use us as gun powder in power struggle.

Democracy will remain a dream in present geographically imbalanced Pakistan.. The establishments(civil and military) with judiciary and journalist hail from the same constituency, share the same historical values and tomorrow. Their process of thinking is at harmony with each other, diagonally opposite to the interest of smaller federates. This would have been better if we would have followed  Pakistan resolution and had a union of states of  the republic of Pakistan.  They have not accepted the changes in the constitution and Ms. Kashmala is on record.

The recent decision of supreme judiciary is an anti federation verdict, the judiciary is in the same boat with PML(N). Past record of Mian Sb is incompatible with federation. The election commission is deeply divided on the decision as the reliable sources say but it was their impotency to surrender their authority to a partisan judiciary.

"Violence breeds violence and instigate the other party to use counter violence. Non violence breeds love and make the other to surrender. Hate cannot be removed by hatred but love and tolerance can transform the enemy in to a friend. It is weapon having no destructive quality. Abdul Ghaffar Khan used to explain that violence has always a bigger and vicious counter violence but there is no counter to non violence.

Human being is the second most destructive animal to an elephant. But elephant destroy the local nature and when it comes to the human beings they destroy the globe and grossly destroy the humanity. The prosperity and human growth requires a climate of peace.

I have a gut feeling that Pakistan establishment is not interested in real peace if they are then why they are asking for a stake in sovereign country, Afghanistan ? The perception of non interference and peace does not fit in to the mind frame of Islam Abad . Is it not against the UNO charter? There are other solid reasons too. Whatever international importance Pakistan is enjoying at present strained situation is due to unstable and war torn Afghanistan.

The birth of Pakistani Taliban and the emergence of a new political force in Pakistan claiming to protect Pakistan and Islam have targeted KPK, Baluchistan, and Sindh. Doesn't it stinks foul while these ground drones have most of their centres in Punjab? It is not in the interest of Pakistan to loose international nuisance value and shut the only one thriving industry of terror.

Afghanistan must pursue their strategy of peace with Afghan Taliban with the preconditions  to stop violence and build Afghanistan that belongs to all of us irrespective of the fact who is the ruler as for as it is by Afghans, of Afghans, and for Afghans. The more we are fractured the more we will be dictated.

USA must realise that they must stop beating around the bush. It was their foreign policy that united right wingers in Pakistan. They should talk directly to PML, sectarian organisations and the secret agencies of Pakistan establishment, they hold the key to the insurgency on the eastern side of Durand line and fuelling fire in Afghanistan. The situation has changed, Zardari didn't enjoy the support of the forces that mattered.

It is unfortunate that recognised nationalist forces have lost their political say by loosing elections thanks to their provincial government and impotent provincial party organisation that was plagued with corruption. It is for the first time in our history that our youth revolted against the nationalists in spite of a great struggle by our artists and writers to hold it. "The only force to be commended". In addition the nationalists are divided and oppose each others more than their enemy, showing their love for national destiny. Their personal interests are far sacred to them than national destiny.

The silly demand of theocracy in Pakistan for Americans to vacate is equal to provide them safe exit. All foreign elements must vacate. Al Qaeda being the mother organisation and the  poisonous mushroom growth around it are all interwoven when it comes to terror. They must go or be eliminated which ever suits Americans and Pakistan. The building of Afghanistan, KPK, FATA and southern Pakhtunkhwa is the moral duty of those, who destroyed it.

But it is distressing that while we are on fire, British and US fire brigades are running to Lahore and 09 in Karachi. USA and UK share in the crime against humanity and destruction of Pakhtuns belt. And equally the nationalist forces.

Why hatred should dictates us?

                     WHY HATRED SHOULD DICTATE US?
                                 khurshidalam44@hotmail.com
Hatred is a satanic instinct, malignant in character and only found in human species. It is not  spontaneous like anger and has roots in evil intelligence. It has some erroneous characteristics like fire. Fire initially needs fuel, subsequently it consumes itself, the left over is ash. The hatred generates and thrives on bitterness and intolerance. It destroys the host and infect others. Have zero tolerance for truth or to experiment truth. It is long lasting with remissions and relapses, with  long incubation period to manifest its deadliest and incurable manifestation.

While anger is a spontaneous response of aggression without planning. It is a disorder  with sudden onset followed by remorse. In hatred there is no remorse because it is the feeling of guilt and animal have no guilty feelings. Anger is shared by animals and human species equally. It's immediate destructive effects are enormous but in long run repairable. As the Chinese wisdom goes, to control your emotions for a while can thwart disaster in the earth. Might look easy to say difficult to act upon. After reading, " My experiment with truth" by Mohandas Gandhi  I have tried my level best to get rid of bitterness and by accepting the truth and facts to increase the depth of my tolerance but have failed several times. The struggle is on not yet abandoned.

Why hatred is only confined to human specie and not found in animals? I think that the target of this deadliest virus is our higher centres, logic and wisdom, animals do not posses them. The difference between anger and hatred has a clear line between them,  aggression and anger are basically animalistic character while hatred is a devilish instinct infects men, as mentioned earlier.

It disrupts the process of constructive thinking, erase the sense of logic and mutual understanding, jaundice the vision, clouds mental capabilities and rob humans of the perception of mutual co-existence in spite of  differences in opinions. This basic difference between an animal and a human is washed away. It can effect an individual, a group of people and even a nation.

There is a philosophical reason behind it, based on religion, ethnic, racial or economic interests and needs a climate of stress and strain. Peace invites it natural death.

The recent most fire of hatred based on religious intolerance was the clash of fundamentalism in middle east that started in Iraq which, was based on a very flimsy reason. Basically it was an onslaught on axis of evils by axis of devils based on hatred. It was followed by a fire that engulfed the whole Middle East. The Arab spring was turned in to a bloody drama that is still bleeding like weeping wound. Iraq war had an element of personal animosity of Bush Dynasty with Iraqi regimen, as senior bush was painted on floor in the entrance of a hotel in Baghdad.

The other was the partition of the subcontinent where a border was drawn with the blood of the children's of mid night, numbered one million. The Irish and southern Sudan liberation were both based on religious intolerance the later had an element of economical factor. It is a said that in the shadows of synagogue , churches and mosques more human lives have lost than putting all epidemics together.

The racial intolerance manifested itself in the creation of Bangladesh Desh and disintegration of USSR where Russian were trying to dominate other ethnic communities socially, culturally and historically. It will not be illogical to equate punjabis of Pakistan with Russian of late USSR.

Afghanistan war was based on racial hatred and geographical interest but to make palatable for illiterate Pakhtun it was heavily soaked in religious flavour. It was simply to capture a sovereign nation or to impose a sectarian system based on hatred. The orony was that what they could not do in their own country their insanity forced them to impose it in a neighbouring country. Pakistan and Afghanistan both are reaping the harvest of hatred sown by Pakistan and saudi. Their persistence claim for stake in future of sovereign Afghanistan shows their evil design.

Non state actors were hired by state to fight for their interest. Basically these are non state actors were owned by certain states who were responsible for their training, logistic supply and well being. They cannot be written off simply as non state actors they belong to certain states. The collaboration between the two is on simple logic to scratch each others back. The Islamic phobia in the west is manifesting itself. In US it started as early as 9/11 but in UK it is unfolding itself now. The nostalgia of the west is a shining example of intolerance.

There are two long standing religious disputes that are unresolved. The Palestinian home and Israeli extravagancy. The right of Kashmiris self determination and ambiguous stand of Pakistan. In both cases the parties have gone to war three times and nothing has been learnt from the devastation of the wars.

Hatred to each other have shut their eyes to realise the power and  dynamism of human mind. It is the intolerance to each other and failure to understand each other .point of view. Our lack of confidence in human wisdom and its enormous ability to solve the most difficult and intricate problems. And till they are solved, we can still peacefully co exist in spite of differences or going to war. It is a megalomania of Israel and Pakistan to yield the opponent,  failing to grasp that no powerful and mass destructive arsenals can defeat human capacity and national will. It reminds the banner headline of the Guardian after carpet bombing Hanoi," Hanoi survives in caves." National will can blunt any nuclear device.  The same is the case of with both, Pakistan and India.

I just fail to understand why Pakistan must have animosity with both India and Israel. . How can we help Kashmiris and Palestinian by our hawkish attitude. If we cannot be friends with both,  I have failed to find any sane reason to be have animosity with them. Unless we have ulterior motives to throw Israeli in to the sea or capture Kashmir to make it a part of Pakistan then of course war could be the only way. If the real problems are really in question then why war, why not talk?  It will be wiser to establish diplomatic relation with Israel and have friendly relation with India. The later move and is beneficial for both,  Pakistan and Kashmiris. Pakistan will have access to cheap modern technology of India. We should not forget that India is a super power in computer technology. Being a doctor of medicine we will have enormous benefits in health field. In case of Israel we may get a chance to play a positive diplomatic role to help Palestinians  and at the same time can have bilateral technological pact.

To start I began from a "human instinct" and tried its application universally and regionally. I am struggling to narrow the field of application of my philosophy. That hatred is the enemy of humanity. And it is equally harmful to an individual and universe. Gone are the days of global village, we have stepped on the moon and any time can leap to mars. It is the era of universal village. Hatred, intolerance and refusal to logic and obstructing the advancement of technology is not a sane approach. If we decide to cocoon ourselves in faith, race or ideological or geographical  borders, we will contract the sphere of applying our capabilities  and will fail to contribute to universe. The empire of God is too huge for us to comprehend. We have to open ourselves. We can still maintain our identity and rights in a larger house, the home Mother Nature.

Coming to Pakistan it is still being run on ethnic and sectarian hatred. Our PM is of the view that except Punjab all other federates are political dwarfs as they have not voted for him. The only politically mature federate is Punjab. He is so unaware that even Punjab did not vote for his manifesto but has voted for "jag punjabi jag" it is not political maturity but revival fascism.

Coming to myself I am a follower of a philosophy based on love for all, hatred for none. Peace with all, fight with none. Non violence is the greatest human virtue and a force that  surrenders the enemy without a drop of blood being shed.

The un-matched weapon is education and "understanding of education" called wisdom and logic. We have been defeated in recent election. It is not the time of mud slinging at each others. Others have right to say any thing about us, we have the right to defend ourself. But the history will not hold us responsible for what others say about us but will certainly hold us responsible for our hesitation not to probe our weaknesses and crimes, for putting introspection on ice slab or to go in to a criminal silence.

The silence must be ended. This lid must be taken off to let the pressure of hatred and bitterness be released and logic prevails. We must to have our total dissection, fibre by fibre and paw by paw like an onion. Let us not malign each other but prove the criminality has been used and punish the guilty accordingly. We must not shy away to open this pandora box. Since long we have not in to look in the mirror.

The wash out ....?

                                        The wash out?

LANDSLIDE DEFEAT BY NATIONALISTS IN KPK.
                          khurshidalam44@ hotmail.com   Dated 17/4/13

In my humble opinion the total rejection by the masses of the nationalists is neither unexpected
nor surprising. You reap what you sow. Having a faith in the philosophy of Bacha Khan and my long and close relations with the top most leadership as a worker and student since 1962, I wished that my analysis and observations had proved wrong and we should have done a little better. It was the wish and prayers of all dedicated and ideological members that theirs fears of the known proves wrong I was no exception, but it was not to be.

What exactly I felt and analysed during five years of nationalist rule turned out to be more in conformity with fears and expectations. Service and deed stands high and nations rarely make mistake. Historians and analysts do speak lies but not the history and realities. When I was on election trail in  Buner to smooth out the differences between the workers and local leadership, I was told by a ninety years old nationalist that for us it is a Pukhto but the fact, a common man is looking forward to a new election and they are sick and tired of us.

He told me a Pukhto tapa:
ملا به خداي شه ازان وايه.    ده زني سر مي اشنا كندي كندي كو.
It shows the disappointment and dejection in the public.  When the bigs left for homesl, the workers told me that it was the first time we saw our elected leader in one a half year and to shake hands with us because of your presence. They very frankly told that there will be a tough competition on Babak seat and no where else. One of senior member endorsed their views. The same was told about swat and Jandool. None Dr. Sb; none, it is all over . I was shocked but kept my nerves. I did convey it to a very selfless young leader and could feel his pain but he sounded as if he is helpless. (Conveyed to the party telephonically)

I don't feel sad nor having guilt complex. I have always been a strong critic of my party conduct. I raised my voice in all forums inside the party. I have been doing so the days of two babas and was always encouraged for constructive criticism. Rather it was one of my duty. I kept on trying this time as well  but in vain, to invite the attention of the leadership towards the destructive process of thinking we were pursuing. Our colleagues of words and wisdom kept silent. I would agree with one of them who told me the two reasons, the crisis of confidence in our selves to lead and the fear to be maligned. Those who led the party betrayed the masses and corrupted the philosophy particularly on provincial level.

Our tragedy is that once we are in the government we are shut to reasons and suggestions,  gag any un soothing voice, cruel to ideological workers and coward to those who could hit back.. Not only I confined my self to writing articles and blogs but kept on telling our responsible provincial leadership and had lengthy discussions with them here and Kabul but had to listen to their sweet commentary in return without realism. Some were aware but felt helpless. The central leadership was pleaded again and again to honour me to listen my point of view for the sake of rejection but was denied an audience. We ignored Wali khan advice. When we decided to take part in the parliamentary election and subsequently joined the coalition government with Maulana Mufti Mehmood he made a historical speech that we have two aims, to know the nucleus of power in Pakistan and to use the chair to further our aim and serve those who fought for freedom. Before his death he pointed out specifically who to be trusted and who not to be trusted. Unfortunately we did contrary to what he said.

I was told by a very senior member of the party that once he was told by another senior member to stop criticising, it upsets the bigs and added " why don't you keep quiet? It hurts all of us but neither it is the party of my father nor yours. At least they have the have one genuine claim." He  said, I realised his logic and my fault.

To start with, we claimed to be the continuation of khudai- khidmatgar and were trusted. People expected us that we will complete an unfinished mission of 1948 this time, with honesty and zeal. In return we disappointed them more than our opponents and used it as a luxury ride, showed no difference of character and integrity than others. As we had none of the two. It was winter grand sale or better called loot.

People voted us to power to bring peace let us be honest to say that it was an international game and many players were involved, it was beyond the scope of a provincial government to deal with it. But no doubt enormous sacrifices were given by the party leaders workers and public. This is not a benefit of doubt but stark fact.

Thirdly I was begging for the last five years that if we better focus our attention to change the process of thinking of the masses by our deeds, it will be more paying in the long run. We could root out corruption and nepotism as it does not cost money or extra financial resources but it flourished, it needed honesty of purpose no one in the chair had it.  We failed in it because a corrupt organisation can bring forward corrupt candidates.

As one of the minister said in confidentiality that God has offered us an opportunity and not to exploit the opportunity is a folly. We failed to take the power to the door steps of the masses nor we held our principles high that to serve the human beings is a service to God. To make the people realise that we are servants not masters and believe in service not political gimmick.

As one of the disgruntled senior member told me that intra party dictatorship has tightened the noose  that it can ruin the life long struggle of an honest member by issuing an edict. It is a closed shop. Dissent is a very big leap but a small suggestion in right direction could ruin one's whole political career.

The youngster were totally ignored. They kept on begging for classes, corner meetings and reading material but were never heard. How could we expect them, not to vote for a directionless party. Did we armed them with knowledge, logic and a direction?  One of highly placed student leader told me that there are 98,000 students in Peshawar university with forty five thousand supporting staff. In this little KPK they had 150 members divided in several faction as the leaders wanted it to be that way. He told me that the major split in Pk.S.F was due to allotting a Bacha Khan's seat in Indra Gandhi university to the son of a leader at the top with total disregard of merits and sacrifices rendered by others. The irony was the same top leader told me in confidentiality that we have only one minister who is honest, the rest all are corrupt.

To bring a little relief to the miseries of the general masses we added to them. Where ever we had the elected members, the masses were looted by both, the chosen and organisational bosses. And where ever we had no elected candidate the party leaders robbed the people. To grab the top post in the party  at district level, one had to have two criterion, loyalty to provincial or central leaders and having 0.15 to 0.3 million rupees to pay for fake membership lists. It was astonishing that the provincial chief declared it historical membership drive. This is what I saw with my own eyes. Out of our five senses only seeing is believable hearing and speaking can cheat us. Since the structure of the organisation was based on money so instead of workers a cadre of servants was created whose loyalty was not to the party but to personalities.

I presume it is neither a personal attack, nor fabrication but pointing out our own collective failures. The bigs have a big share and the smallest have share according to the status like vital and non vitals organs in the body causing death. Unless we accept our failures and experiment with truth as Bacha Khan preached for a century it will show our dishonesty to his teachings and the sacrifices of his followers.

As Wali Khan used to say every Pukhtun has the right to criticise the party but must be proportionate  to his sacrifices and contribution to the party. To qualify my statement should not be taken by the readers that I am trying to hide behind sand bags but I feel we must peel of the onion paw by paw to reach the core of the matter. It is not a trade organisation but a movement to shape our national destiny. If I am punished for my words, it will be a great honour for my faith in the teachings of Bacha khan, Wali Khan and Ajmal Khattak. To me they are history makers and histories in  themselves, not just personalities. I detest personality cult. An English proverb at this point will may help us to chalk out future policy, "it is no point to adjust our minds unless we realise that fault is lying in reality."

We must stop personal and public mud slinging at each others, but in a proper forum with complete freedom of expression find out our weaknesses and the causes for our historical set back. The wisdom and knowledge teach us to find our weaknesses not of others. What the enemy did to us is of least significance the history will hold us responsible for our own silence. But we must keep in view that we as a party were under house arrest by Taliban, the actual election commission. Had we done better during our rule probably the result would have been different. But we had nothing to tell our people and the Taliban factor has covered up our full exposure that would have been disastrous.

Out political gains by our parliamentarians are worth to be commended but did we deliver its fruit to the masses?? But was our attitude and character dignity of that standard?

Those who didn't do well immediately responded to their setbacks. PPP has appointed an accountability committee under barrister Aithezaz. MQM has also started dissolution of certain committees and appointing probing committees.  But ANP is sitting crossed fingers as if nothing has happened. A meeting of faithful think tank was considered sufficient.

Think tanks are not made of faithfuls though the word faithful is difficult to interpret. Do we mean faithful to the philosophy or personalities, it is to be clarified first? This knot must be undone. The think tank word is self explanatory. Unless we stop looking at facts with jaundiced or myopic eyes we cannot materialise the dream of Bacha Khan and his followers and will remain in debt to our history, soil and nation.

The total sweep in central Pakhtunkhwa particularly in  Swabi by opponents is our doing. We could see that happening but failed to show flexibility or do away with our rigid posture in the  name of party discipline. I really wish it that discipline was there and observed by all and not as a tool to gage the dissenting voices. Once again we became the handle of the axe in the hands of Ranjeet Singh.

If we look at the rest of Pakistan there is hardly an un expected change. In Punjab there is a big swing towards Nawaz sharif. He has been in power himself three time and his brother ruled 64 percent of Pakistan. This will be an exaggeration that it was a corruption free society but deliverance to the masses was unabated..

It was a swing to JAG PUNJABI JAG. The shadows of death were at harmony with them. Being an industrialist the industrialists support was unwavering and the elites of Punjab could see better job opportunities. They ran their electoral campaign with co-ordination and maintained a sustained pressure and focused on the interest of Punjab, the only party who supported Hazara province without mentioning saraiki and Potohar. I assume they had convinced the military bosses for better behaviour. Imran khan slogan of change failed to make a deep bite in JAG PUNJABI JAG. He swept away PPP from the Punjab and ANP from KPK.
We knew almost well in advance the feelings of the people and their dejection . We also knew what will be the security state of our candidates and workers. We knew who is the real election commission. What steps were taken to counter it. I was told by well informed that there were two party organs and two governmental organisation in the field to feed back those with powers.

What steps were taken to counter the enemy design. Why the criminal were projected as "INNOCENT" and fielded to contest in such odd circumstances. Bacha khan did not make a political party in Pakhtoon to divide the nation but a brotherhood to unite the nation. We are all heir to him if we have pat and nang and kill our ego and talk of national ego.

The Interior sindh did not abandoned their loyalty to Bhutto family. The Sindhi nationalists with punjabi vested interest failed to break that bond. Their campaign was exactly  like ours, leaderless and the candidates with leaders under house arrest.  But constant touch with masses paid the dividends.

Baluchistan mandate is as usual fractured and provided room to the others to put their house in order or disorder it beyond repair. Pakhtoon milli party did better in Pukhtun belt. It is for the first time that JUI has no chips to play in either province or in the centre to keep on cashing. I feel sorry for him but offer no advice. Wish him best of luck. He was damaged by his symbol, kitab, denied him the opportunity to present it to the voters as Quran. In previous campaign they fooled the people that prophet is counting their votes this time that role was taken over by Taliban.

Just to accept defeat with reservation and congratulate the opponents is giving us a moral edge over the others but does not solve our problem unless we probe our weaknesses and rectify them. We need a thorough analysis and without fear, guilt to point out the responsible for wrong policies and wrong doing like corruption and nepotism. We have five years to reconstruct our shattered house if we decide to think frankly. We must desist to personalise the criticism but approach the problem that it was a collective set back, but the vitals will have big share than non vitals. They have to accept but of course those who are eroding the philosophy must be asked to show their back and walk towards exit.

I feel it is easy to criticise but it is difficult to accept others's criticism. It is easy to write an article without showing the exit from the mess. In my humble opinion the following procedure if adopted will  enable us to do justice to our selves.:
To select a think tank of people which is think tank in spirit, knowing the back ground of the whole movement and present circumstances. Once again I must emphasise that as for as they have the ache for Pukhtun should be included and personal faithfulness should be flung out. Students and youngster must be an integral part of this tank.
In second stage the base should be broadened and represent every district and all section of the society.
Out of these two sessions a committee should be formed who should discuss with the provincial and central leadership followed by the executive committee. And sit till we reach a decision.
We must cleans the party from mentally corrupt. The cleansing should be across the board and not limited to a person or section. We must abandoned to say it is right but keep quiet this is wrong. Honest is honest and thief is a thief. It is of no significance if this exercise cost us two elections.
The early we start when the wounds are fresh and the pain is sharp than to postpone it as usual when the feelings are blunt with the passage of time the better it is. THOSE WHO ARE SCARED OF TRUTH CAN NEVER MAKE HISTORY.
Let us break this silence of fear before the history hold us for our silence. If you see the truth and cease to speak is equal to be stake holder in the crime.
The intra party phobia and dictatorship must be smashed, to have a moral base to ask others for democracy in the country. There is a sharp edge between intra party dictatorship and discipline. A disciplinary and accountability committee will ensure its proper execution.
Let us be stake holder not shoe shiner. If we must break the chain of fear there remain nothing to stop us to tell the truth about ourselves and others. The dirt and filth must be cleaned but we are clean ourselves? Let us have increase depth of wisdom, not the expertise of buttering. WE HAVE TO COMPLETE THAT UNFINISHED MISSION LEFT TO US BYMERTYRS.

Nawaz sharif and the challenges

                        NAWAZ AND THE CHALLENGES.
                                khurshidalam44@hotmail.com

Nawaz sharif swept the recent general election.  In our Pashto there is a proverb that it is easy to built the house but difficult to lit on fire in it. He is faced with enormous nerves testing challenges. Though we have differences with his top priority. To him electricity is at top and peace is second to us it is the opposite. We feel that an industrialised and electrified grave yard with motor ways in it  is perceptively remote from intelligence. It may be the influence of his class on his character being an industrialist.

He owes his success to a weak and incompetent government plagued with scandals on daily basis. Intrinsically so weak that there is hardly a decision mentionable that has been taken one day and not reversed the next day.

The two top factors that wiped PPP from Punjab was electricity and corruption. Since in industrialised Punjab and Karachi the priority is electricity both are the financial and political hubs. In these two areas fourth generation of industrialists is in the field while in the rest of Pakistan the first generation has yet to be born. For prosperity and progress peace is the most essential factor . In the last 30 years what ever little Pakistan got for developmental  program, the only two places was Punjab, Karachi suffered a bit because of gang war and KPK was on fire. Baluchistan was ruled by Islamabad directly. The real representative were either in exile or in mountains.

To compound the situation further  by the election was conducted by the election  commission of Taliban. The blessed and non blessed, did play a major role

Knowing Mian Sb; past behaviour the three federated units have deep rooted reservations about his conduct. Punjab is the king maker of Pakistan and no ruler can go against their wishes if they harbour the hopes for  future power . A strong person like Mr. Bhutto told one of his closest aid in KPK, don't expect me to sacrifice Punjab for your rights. Mian Sb is the son of the soil as well.

Mian Sb; does not enjoy good relationship with the army establishment and their main supporter United States. His inclination towards Taliban is no secret but to balance the two, United States and army on one hand and Taliban on the other is not an easy task. Is he of that stature to bring both sides and bruised Afghanistan on one table? He might have learnt some lessons from the past and has gained some political maturity but to undo this knot it needs a statesman. In my view we have none in Pakistan.

The internal insurgency, the economical bankruptcy, the peace in Afghanistan with affiliated Pakhtoon belt , the  malignant corruption and nepotism, the daily violation of air space, courage to deal with gen. Musharaf and conduct free enquiry of Ms. Bhutto assassination  or major scandals are huge with enormous consequences problems.

Mian Sb; has two third majority once again, may God save our souls. His politeness apart but he is known for his double standards and not abiding by his words. When we have no sovereignty on our land, he needs special skill to convince US that the sky above is our sovereign property? Will he shoot  down drone? Does he realise the consequences? If he does not he has has to face more hawkish opposition though small in size but more aggressive and clear in its stance.

Unless he has secret friendship with two "Ms" Mulla and military,  nothing can be said certainty we all are guessing or can he be the lucky first one? Bhutto's fall was because of the two and contemptuous behaviour for others.  Mian Sb; was taken from PM house  by his confrontation with an  army general. He swallowed two generals but the third swallowed him. And the country had to pay for it. His hate for other provinces was too obvious in spite of his political politeness.

His respect for judiciary is still black spot in our judicial history,  the only man to attack Supreme Court and showed no regrets. After all a prince cannot be expected to express regrets. They are not security from security risk federate.

It is said in all political discussions on TV that the situation has changed and military has no chance. It makes me laugh to less their opinion five years ahead of the time. The constitutional changes are great achievements but what I wonder whether the words will be translated in to action and its sanctity respected.

I was told by a young student that he feels that he should vote Imran khan because the rest all tried  and are corrupt, he is the only honest. I told him vote is your right to give to any body but your basis of decision is wrong. As you feel all others are tried corrupt, that is true,  but to pass a verdict about Imran needs five years to be tried. Is your decision not five years ahead of actual time? The same is said by our analysts about army. The next five or ten years will prove it.

I am not pessimist but factual, once before I wrote an article " a country with no tomorrow". I meant it and believe in it to day as well that the sun of tomorrow will be eclipsed. A country where the youth does not see another option except cheating in exam and the examinations are held under the supervision of security forces, where the youngster cannot differentiate between westernisation and modernisation. Can any one be optimistic. Crimes rate is the highest in youths. They are compulsive cheater, the youths learn it from elders.

In my opinion the army was held  back because of their tarnished image due to to attack on GHQ, naval head quarter, Abbot Abad incidence, and inability to protect the air space violation. The breaches in the security shattered their image of professionalism and invincibility and bruised their integrity badly. Even then  can some one quote a single problem that was solved without military intervention. Whether it was the instalment of old judiciary and subsequent march or governor rule in Punjab. It is beside the point that Mian tried to own the success of march and tried to hijack the credit of the  black coat movement.  He went to the extent to put nuclear facilities success story in his own basket  but was caught immediately. He fired five bombs under local pressure with little US annoyance,as  Gauhar Ayub said.

The real test of the free and  non partisan judiciary starts now?   Ot will show the nature of elements they are made of. Did we ever have a single judicial activism against army involvement in civil affairs. Now is the time to see their courage to put hand on Musharraf and upset the khadimul harmain sharifan and strong section of the army,  top bureaucrats and influential politicians? Why we are scared of pandora? It is lame excuse we as a nation scared to face the truth?

Imran khan ideas were utopian but attractive. For his promises he needed a strong central government that dream was not materialised. He got majority in the most difficult province that is geographically fractured and is a dump of gunpowder. One of the contributor to the dump is his ally in the government. He has no experienced candidate who can counter Sirajul Haque of JI. He will be ruling a field on fire. He must remember that he might be used as sand bag by the crooked clergy.

Let the system does not derail and we need four or five election to educate our masses and learn ourselves.

                                             We the animals........?

                                      khurshidalam44@hotmail.com

Received a beautiful note from a friend. We are friends because we are penniless aristocrats. He was damn worried about the division of humanity and was trying to squarely blame the venom of hatred, though using the different tools, like religion, ethnicity, colour and class division that leads to contemptuous behaviour towards the less fortunate. I have a feeling he is deeply impressed by nelson Mandela, saying that poverty is man made disease. The hatred does not have a single etiological factor but has multifactorial aetiology.

Out of all these animals the most destructive animal of nature is human being and second is an elephant. Though the destructive instinct is widely attributed to animals or beasts as they have not been gifted by Mother Nature of higher centres. They have senses like the most knighted human being but have no brain to acquire knowledge and wisdom and a place to store in the upper story. Their senses give them limited access to know the universe. But what ever they have been gifted, they use them but very rarely abuse them.

The human being has been given the knowledge and wisdom and so they have been made answerable. It does not mean that human beings have no beastly characteristics. They do have and when come to use it they use it viciously. With decapitation of human beings at the level of eyebrows will still keep their heart beating their needs for biological life will remain minus higher senses and thinking ability.

We don't like certain things perceptively. Like exploitation, contemptuous behaviour, dictators, army. We have  all of them. Have you heard of a dictator in the jungle. They are in herd but have no army. Because every one knows its limit/ jurisdiction. Knowledge can make you an angel but too much knowledge can change us to satan. Human being is complex animal.

They invent medicine to cure but all the destructive inventions are the creation of social animal. Noble prize is being given for peace but after he saw the destruction of his own invention, hand grenade. We are a mixture of good and bad. But we were not born like a plain white sheet, it is the gift of society and we are being used as actors. It is nasty and bad that provides us the sense to enjoy bad. Shouldn't we be thankful to bad doers? After all they have taught us how to relax and enjoy the good. The society evolution in my is lying in bad I may be wrong in my perception. We always agree to disagree with each other. Nothing new or surprising?

I am myself as confused as any one. As I told you Nas; that is there any need of religion for a learned person? It is a code of life for those
who have been deprived to acquire knowledge. I am in a a spider web and like a spider can't get out of it.
