HOW DO WE LOOK AT BACHA KHAN?
EDUCATIONAL
To write on Bacha Khan is not a joke. When he was brought from India in coma by a team of seven doctors Prof. Mussarat Shah asked them why they give him so much importance? The question was irrelevant for the occasion, as they were visiting KTH as professionals but one of them replied and I quote,” Madam he is Dewta but born in a wrong place.”
I read the book of Sayel on Bacha khan I must say it is a piece of literature and he has really given the power of speech to his photographs.
Sayel has mentioned many times about his poverty and its effect on his personality but has failed to realize that God almighty has been extremely gracious to him to give him such a tremendous power of expression. Allah says in Quran that he has created all the human beings equally from the same clay. His pocket may be empty but he has a rich mind.
Many books have been written on Bacha khan but in Pashto such a book was the need of the time. He has given tongue to the pictures of Bacha khan. He has undoubtedly succeeded to bring Bacha khan back physically in to the world. His soul is asking us many questions that need answers. And every answer has many questions to be answered.
He has quoted Gibran that if we see a slave sleeping we should not wake him up. He may be dreaming of freedom. Bacha khan comments; “No” wake him up and teach him the real meaning of a freedom showing his extreme love for knowledge.
Youngster often asks me about the philosophy of Bacha khan and I tell them that he was knowledge, action, and truth. He thought one without the other is meaningless.
When he was in our service he was in prisons and now when he is not with us physically we have imprisoned him in frames. He did not have only tongue to speak but his actions; way of life and physical body all had their own tongue. His silence had a tongue. His eyes were telling us about our past and present. His face was an open book to read our future and fears if we fail to act today.
His gaze was showing us the path to the end of our historical journey and at the same time warning us how difficult is the journey?
We are Hippocrates of first rate that we love him and act contrary to his teachings.
We have imprisoned him in frames and we show our loyalty and dedication to his philosophy by wearing a red cap and putting a red handkerchief in our black waistcoat. Was he simply that? If he was why his own people and the rulers were against him? Are we not abusing his philosophy? Are we not cashing him? Are we not torturing his soul? Have we not assumed the role of colonial masters or brown rulers? These are the questions we must asked ourselves if we honestly believe in his teachings? Any thing bears his name is a spot for us to stop and think what is he asking us?
His Markaz should be a university where the real meaning of freedom and abolition of Social evils are taught and should not be a civil secretariat.
His clothes should teach us how to diminish our needs to the minimum possible to get rid of Greed.
His voice is echoing in my ears Kohstania if you succeed to minimize your needs, you will get rid of Greed and will not have the to bow to any one except God. This silly greed is playing with us and making us mentally slaves. Greed is a gateway to Satan to divert us from the service of human beings. Did you understand me? I pray and hope that you understand this in my lifetime? Starve your ambitions and feed your opportunities.
All I would say that we don’t need to be taught but all that we require is to re read ourselves. Does our action in conformity to his teachings?? The values of our society are still the same. We can say he is right but cease to speak he is wrong. We are scared of saying the truth and cheat ourselves. Self-cheating is equal to cheat GOD.
We as a nation need a refresher course of his teachings.
We must activate the education and research center of Bacha khan trust to get the desired results.
It should be so strong to wake up the whole Pakhtoon nation and teach them the real meaning of freedom? The freedom is not only physical but of our conscience.
We should re think that GREED has no limits and needs have a limit. Any limitless desire opens the gate to SATAN to play with us and eat our inner man like a maggot. Our minds and Soul should be wearing his philosophy.
THIS IS WHAT I FEEL IS THE PHILOSOPHY OF BACHA KHAN.
