HOW TO UNDO PAKISTAN’S DILEMMA?

HOW TO UNDO PAKISTAN’S DILEMMA?

Khurshidalam44@hotmail.com London Dated 18th Dec. 2011-12-17

Pakistan relations with US have taken another twist for the worst. Pakistan has demanded tax for transit facilities from US, another mode to milk the bloody Drama.

As US demands “do more” Pakistan can demand “give more”. It would have been much better to ask for the blood money of 21 jawans killed in US raid with a precondition that future arrangement should be revisited. It would have been a logical approach as a usurper did the previous arrangement.

The whole country is buzzing with rumours. The clouds on Islam Abad are pregnant with all judicial or extra judicial rumours. It is due to the psychosis of destabilisation on one hand, power struggle on the other.

Those who repeatedly say that they will allow unconstitutional change are in fact preparing the path for the third force to come in with out invitation.

The opposition has neither the required strength in the house nor they have the ability of street power to bring any change. It is ridiculous claim of Muslim League (N) to steal the strength of black coat movement and attribute them to his charismatic leadership. Zardari has a good luck to have practically no have the most impotent opposition that is not trust worthy.

It may be the only logical explanation that every attempt by opposition to dislodge Zardari has failed so for. None of the has a realistic agenda.

Pakistan present Catch-22 is the result of 60 years idiocies. The major portion of present gridlock is inherited and the rest is the contribution of the present government.

These problems are always associated with a proclaimed state that is governed by impulses and day-to-day problems are solved on sensitivities. Neither vision nor ground realities play any role in formulating the national policies.

States cannot be run impulses. Unfortunately the alternative of institutional policies never suited the rulers of Pakistan. The idea of collective leadership was not in their DNAs.

The newly implanted civil rule is exposed to harsh realities. In their hierarchy there is no statesmanship to deal with the situation.

I am of the opinion that to come out present circumstances we must learn to experiment with truth and realise the ground realities. We are in a state of war and there is on-going insurgency, a gross departure from normal diplomatic channel will be suicidal.

Our civilian government is too weak. Economy is shattered. The terrorism has strengthened its grip on the country. No one is safe.

The army is fighting a war against shadows of terror. A strong lobby and a good chunk of the public are supporting this bloody drama. The whole national has been radicalised by our so-called free press and so is the establishment.

The military, judiciary is highly politicised. The press is adding fuel to the flames of radicalism in the name of freedom. The society as whole is divided in to many fragments on sectarian and racial basis. National unity has become a dream of insane.

Keeping the above points in mind will it carries no logic to have a head on collision with US. They need us as a corridor to supply their beleaguered forces in Afghanistan who are running out nappies and toilet rolls but this dependence is only 30%.

We should not forget that our armed forces are totally dependent on them. We have no technical know how. Our financial dependence on them is quite substantial.

We are nation who eats barley and shooting rice. We damn care to loose a horn, but to save the ear. To down a US plane can push us back to the Stone Age.

Iraq and Afghanistan are the recent examples. This is the gift of unipolar world. Pakistan and other Muslim countries were celebrating the disintegration of USSR and were considering the biggest enemy of Islam. Now they must have realised their idiocy. The counter devil theory was more in the interest of smaller nations, like Pakistan.

Whether we like it or not but normal relation with neighbours and US is compulsion of our geographical location. Let us be honest to our selves. Do we have the firepower that can match 6th or 7th flotilla of US navy that can knock on our doors?

What could be the other logical reason behind the rhetoric of our opposition? As for as I think they never want peace in Afghanistan without realising they as long as US is stuck in Afghanistan there will be resistance and further radicalisation of our society that will stimulate growth of terrorism that will detrimental to Pakistan. The terrorist industry will boom day by day.

This is exactly what the opposition want to further their policy of GIVE MORE. They are interested in Dollars and Riyals. They are determined to milk the cow of terror to the last drop even if it is at the stake of loosing the integrity of the country. They are myopic lot. They cannot be expected to see the distant future.

I have no hesitation to say it loud that the obliteration of Pakistan is being invited. The root cause is lying in our home it will be ridiculous to blame neighbours for them.

It is ludicrous to say that we can deal with the war of terror on our own. No one can do it. It has to be dealt on global basis. Pakistan should revise the terms and conditions and should stop double-dealings.

In the same vain as for as the Memo Scandal is concerned it is for public consumption. Opposition wants to capitalise on it. But the situation demands it must be investigated. I will support the stance of Ms Bushra Gohar (ANP. MNA) that to make it impartial Gen. Pasha must be asked to resign. It is a deep-rooted conspiracy. The ultimate aim is to get rid of the amended constitution that promise provincial autonomy.

Secondly to prolong the Afghan war, to ensure the flow of hard currency.

ANP POST PARTY ELECTIONS

ANP ELECTIONS AND NEXT STEP TO BE EXPECTED?

Khurshidalam44@hotmail.com Dated: 26/11/11… London.

After all the elections in ANP is over. The membership drive was fair or not; is big question mark? This is not the issue to be discussed here. Being a senior member of the party I don’t think it is a proper forum.

But those who have been given the top slots like presidency and G.S. post is a encouraging. Both are knowledgeable and dedicated. Both have a good knowledge of Bacha Khan’s philosophy, past events and future aspirations.

I feel their last term was to restore peace and squeeze constitutional rights from the federation. With a very slender representation, our parliamentarian achieved what were we aspiring and struggling for the last 62 years. They must be commended for it. While on some one else pitch and faced with tough resistance from Raiwand.

Peace is still to be restored and make take more then we expect. Without peace; prosperity is unthinkable. The restoration of peace should be on both sides of Durand line.

It needs a joint policy and commitment on both sides. The next few years is to sort out priorities in the light of our century old struggle and sacrifices rendered by our fore fathers? We owe to them and to our tomorrow.

It may not be possible to restore the original Khudai Khidmatgari as the objective conditions have changed dramatically. That was a movement for struggle and now we have to get national rights within the frame of Pakistan according to its constitution.

We should not be oblivious to the fact that the political maturity has yet to get roots in Pakistan. The present fledgling civilian set up is money based. It has been soaked in a culture that does not allow an ordinary citizen to be a part of it. It is business of haves with no fear to loose It has disfranchise 90% of population.

At the same time we have to be on guard not to loose what we have achieved. An electoral victory will be not only desirable but also a must to solidify our achievement.

Above all and in spite of tremendous odds we have to revive the spirit of Khudai Khidmatgari.

To be in a provincial government will be an added advantage but the only important factor. The constitutional successes have provided some protection to our tomorrow but honestly speaking the party has yet to be groomed to the standard to achieve our historical objectives.

I will be very pleased if the time of proves me wrong but at the moment I have no hesitation to say that the make up the party is not that of history makers.

The constitutional achievements earned by the parliamentarian section of the party have hardly trickled to benefit the gross roots. We have not proved ourselves different than others.

The nation voted us to power to show some change in the life of a common man and to complete an unfinished mission. I am afraid we have failed in it.

In my view the party organisational cadre at different level was not up to the standard. Majority of them were the people who were sucked in to the vacuum created in the last 62 years.

It is now the duty of the new leadership to change the process of thinking of the masses and link it to the past and make them think of the tomorrow.

This is not possible without giving serious attention to the Bacha Khan Markaz.

The re organisation of the Markaz is the scream of the History. And the scream is clear and loud, that is to materialise the dream of Bacha Khan and the sacrifices given by his followers. If we fail to answer we are doomed as a nation.

Markaz should be the focal point. On one hand it should be a university where research is continuous process and to educate the youngster on the other hand.

It should be an academy to train the cadre at different level and induce discipline. Unless we have an educated cadre we cannot dream to materialise Bacha Khan dream.

Markaz should be a workshop to prepare all the components needed for a movement to change the course of history. Their driving force should be their conviction not the vested interest. They should be ready to accept pain, to gain for the nation.

We should cover all aspect of Pakhtoons aspirations and psyche, from religion to culture. It should be round the clock mission and in easy reach of the masses. We should forget the seasonal political approach to a historical dream.

The Markaz should have a focal person with delegated authority and answerable to THINK TANK. The Tank should be small but made of men of men of words and deeds.

Without sorting this focal centre nothing historical can be achieved. We will be giving chance to self-cantered people to milk the philosophy of Bacha khan and his camp followers.

The present cadre is without knowledge, incompetent and deaf to the scream of history. It is a difficult task but there is no gain without pain.

Unless we have a cadre equipped with conviction and discipline corruption, nepotism cannot be weeded out from the party. A sick organisation cannot be expected to make historical gains.

I honestly believe that the new leadership has a very hard job at hand.

I may be wrong but have a feeling that there is a phobia in the cadres. They are scared to speak the truth or express their conscience in the party. It is a crime according to the teachings of Bacha khan. If you see the truth and cease to speak it is a sin; if your personal gain are not involved.

We should have satellite campuses at district and tehsil level of the Markaz in a hujra and all we need to supply them with literature.

Without this exercise it is my candid opinion neither we can have an honest cadre nor we can dream of dedicated local leadership. This is the reason that I have my reservation about the membership.

THE TWO CHIEFS

THE TWO CHIEFS OF PAKISTAN.

Khurshidalam44@hotmail.com London Dated 3rd DEC. 11

The statements coming out of Pakistan are not very encouraging for the fledgling civilian rule. Gen; Kiyani has ordered the army to retaliate without waiting for instructions indicates the weakness in civilian authority. That is not surprising.

On the other hand it is just an attempt to repair the tarnished image of Pakistan army after Osama killing and the unabated Drone attacks.

But if it is read in conjunction with the statement of President Zardari claiming to be the spiritual son of Late Z.A.Bhutto and the talk of the third coffin, does ring the bell.

Sudden awakening of Mian Nawaz Sharif adds to the speculations that there are invisibly palpable hands paving the way for the third extra judicial force to fill the vacuum.

In the present set up Mian has failed to dislodge Zardari. In spite of all his failures to deliver to the public Zardari has outplayed most of the so-called political leadership. He has played with every one and then thrown them in the waste paper basket of the politics.

The four pillars of the system are logged in a bitter fight and know no boundaries to limit their jurisdiction. There are in fact four governments in one state.

The so-called free press is just like a violent elephant smashing all limitations of jurisdiction and runs a parallel electronic government. They considered it their sacred duty to have trial before trial, to demean the parliament and urge the armed forces to use iron fist without the fear of the consequences of the bloody nose. The weakest of the four is the mother of the three, the parliament.

The arrogance has been named as press freedom. They are playing the most dirty and vicious role to invite the unconstitutional change. They are master of sensationalism and dramatization.

In a parliamentary set up when the real opposition leader is scared to sit in opposition to avoid that world to know his policies then the parliament is rendered impotent. This act in itself is an open invitation to the third force to come and fill the vacuum.

The hue and cry about Mr.Haqqani is to divert the attention of the public from the emptiness and impotency of the opposition.

Haqqani has to appear before a commission and the in the light of its recommendation the Epic court will give its verdict. This indicates that the chief of the judiciary wants to head off the international repercussions by using the commission as a sand bag.

Mr Haqqani should be commended that soon after his resignation he came straight to Pakistan instead of seeking asylum somewhere.

Our high ups either flee the country or offer apology. Late Barrister Abdul Qayum and Mian Sb tendered apology. It is a shear coincidence that both were the presidents of Muslim League.

The general perception is that the two chiefs are patronising their respective political allies.

The over all aim of this political wrangling is to derail the civilian rule. No one doubts the shear incompetence of the government and the loot that is going on.

But none the less they are the elected members of the public. The masses should be given chance to go through the process to be educated in electing their members. The nation is bound to commit mistake few times to learn the sanctity of the vote and its effect on the future of the country and themselves. I am supporting one of the analyst’s suggestions to reduce the term to 4 years. As he mentioned the low threshold of our politicians for power second would be to quickly educate our public.

Mian Sahib cannot be blamed for his impatience. If a fish cannot live without water so is Mian Sahib without power. We all remember his days as P.M. with two third majorities in the House.

But one thing must be born in mind that the MIANS are incompatible with the concept of federation. They have a strong tendency for the centralisation of power and are Bonaparte by nature.

We cannot bring angels to run our country but relatively less corrupt people have to be elected that will come with the maturity of the system not by derailing it.

The pundits believe that as for as US is there in Afghanistan there will be resistance. Yes we know our nation that they hate foreign occupation and would go a step forward that as for as there is any foreign force, Americans or terrorist there will be no peace in this region set aside Afghanistan and Pakistan. Like the last time if all the US leaves Afghanistan, there will be a civil war.

Is Pakistan looking for another chance to milk the international community in its new role?

The international community is duty bound to clear their dirt. As I said in my previous blog that we could not be a party to setting our land on fire but we are with them to put it off. They are duty bound to do so and plug all the accesses from the East and South West to stop future interference if any?

We will not allow him to play with our destiny and lives.

ANOTHER TWIST

ANOTHER TWIST IN PAKISTAN’S RELATIONS WITH US.

Khurshidalam44@hotmail.com Dated 28th Nov.2011 London.

US choppers bombed yet another border post of Pakistan killing 25 soldiers. US expressed its condolence and made a promise to investigate. Pakistan responded by banning supply to US troops in Afghanistan and asked US to vacate Shamsi Base in 15 days.

What is significant of this incidence is the tough response of Pakistan not the incidence itself. Such incidences are usual not exceptions. They are expected in the future and bound to happen. The reason is that the logic of inviting such attacks is lying in Pakistan.

It is pointless to discuss who is having the lion share in starting this bloody drama but one thing is sure that US, U.K., Pakistan and Saudi were the writers of the script and the main actors.

With the passage of time the balance has tilted against Pakistan. US want to extricate itself from Afghanistan but are unable to do so unless the safe heavens are wiped out in Pakistan. US believe, wrongly or rightly, that the terrorists have the backing of Pakistani agencies along with religious and political parties. In spite of repeated denial by Pakistan political and military leadership US refuse to accept. Sizeable analysts in Pakistan share the Americans point of view. They think where there is smoke there is definitely fire.

Independent analysts are of the opinion that the reason of failure to flush out 4000 terrorists is due to the double game of Pakistan most powerful and unanswerable secret agencies. Every one acknowledges the sacrifices of Pakistan armed forces but doubt the agencies and other non-palpable and invisible hands.

This notion does appeal to a logical mind. No organisation can work in a country with such ferocity, precision and free handily without a strong support from local influential section of the society.

Pakistani version may be right to some extent that Americans are doing all this in desperation; as they have failed to weaken the terrorist resolve and to force them to opt for a dialogue.

Though Pakistan army has made some commendable achievement but they are no near to restore complete peace. They have succeeded to dislodge them from the caves and now they are dispersed all over the country. They have changed their tactics and instead of engaging the army they are using more suicidal bombers.

The precision and accuracy of the target is still the same. Such a war in urban areas cannot bear the desired effect unless there is competent and dedicated agencies on the back and no protection from the influential sections of the society be it civilian or army. It shows that their communication and information side is still fully intact.

The failure is bilateral and so is the desperation. Pakistan is politically and economically shaky. The same may be the effect on US economy but they have a huge buffering system to absorb the shocks.

Pakistani rulers are not used to formulate a comprehensive foreign policy. The country is being run on impulses and there is no thoughtful approach to either internal or external affairs. The Hall Mark of formulating of foreign policies is to oppose India. Any thing supported by India, the opposite must be good for us.

Pakistan’s army was a unified highly professional institution. Now it is a dislocated, fractured army and soaked in sectarian fundamentalism. It is utterly non-sense that the whole nation is behind them. The rightest and sectarian organisation is totally against army action. It has definitely an effect on their morale.

In the backdrop of this scenario the major responsibility is lying on Americans. Near the borders we have a volatile Middle East, having mass uprising, a fundamentalist Iran and Non Viable state of Pakistan. Any irresponsible adventure by Americans will push the Pakistani opposition closer to each other. It will be an unimaginable disaster to drop a nuclear country in to the lap these elements. It will be like offering the nuclear arsenal to the most irresponsible forces in a dish. There are strong Anti Americans Sentiments in Pakistan, the leaguers and sectarian parties are waiting for such a moment. They have capability to play with the emotion of the people.
